Various conferences enhance the clinical and research experience of our fellows. These activities foster the intellectual growth and give the opportunity for development of teaching skills.  They develop the fellows’ ability to critically review his/her own research data and that of others.

Research and Journal Club:  Postdoctoral clinical and research fellows present a recent research article and then defend, assess, analyze and criticize the article as well as respond to questions on the topic utilizing data from other publications and abstracts.

Basic Science and Clinical Lecture Series:  Guest lecturers, as well as Division faculty, present at this weekly lecture that covers core topics in medical oncology and hematology.

Clinical Review Conference:  Interesting and instructive cases are presented on solid and liquid tumors by two fellows and debated by clinical faculty.

Multidisciplinary Tumor Board:  This conference utilizes specific patient cases to discuss a disease entity from the perspective of medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology and pertinent basic science disciplines and focuses primarily on treatment.

Internal Medicine Grand Rounds:  A variety of guest speakers, as well as departmental faculty, present at this weekly clinical and research conference.

Comprehensive Cancer Center Grand Rounds: Internationally known outside speakers and departmental faculty present their research as it relates to cancer research and clinical care.

Board Review:  Independently ran by the fellows to prepare for the boards utilizing MKSAP oncology and ASH educational resources.
