Creating Outstanding Clinicians and Investigators

One of the major goals of the Division of Infectious Diseases is to prepare medical students, residents and fellows to advance their clinical skills, scientific knowledge and patient caring attitudes in order to become outstanding clinicians and investigators.

• Post-doctoral trainees and clinicians pursue the Fellowship Program, an innovative two- to three-year program to prepare individuals as consultants in infectious diseases, with fundamental training for a career in academic infectious diseases.
  

• Medical students learn through clinical rotations as part of their training in the OSU College of Medicine and Public Health.

Individuals train in The Ohio State University Medical Center's extensive primary and tertiary care facilities for a full range of patient care activities, and the Division's dedicated laboratories for research endeavors. This environment--together with a mix of inpatient rotations, consults, mentor relationships, outpatient opportunities and meetings and conferences--offers a truly dynamic, comprehensive and exciting learning environment.
