Clinical Care in the Outpatient Clinic

Patients receive outpatient care in the Infectious Diseases Clinic located in Cramblett Medical Clinic. Approximately 75% of our outpatients seek expertise in the field of HIV medicine, while 25% receive consultative care for other infectious diseases, sometimes as hospital follow-ups.

Our HIV-infected patients benefit from the presence of the on-site National Institutes of Health-funded AIDS Clinical Trials Unit, which includes our faculty, an OB/Gynecologist, research nurses, a study pharmacist and other support staff as well as access to the latest multicenter clinical trials. A psychiatrist is also available to our HIV-infected patients for on-site consultation. A representative of the Ryan White programs is on call or a meeting can be scheduled, and phlebotomy is performed on site.

Consultation with other medical sub-specialties and support services such as nutrition, PICC line placement and routine x-rays are available in the clinic facility.
