Outpatient Services

The outpatient clinics of the Nephrology Division care for more than 3,000 general nephrology patients, 2,000 solid organ transplant recipients, and 300 patients on hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis. In addition, the Nephrology Division has an outpatient Renal Function Laboratory that performs inulin clearances for the precise determination of glomerular filtration rates, both for clinical and research applications.  Other outpatient activities include the performance of percutaneous native and transplant kidney biopsies, approximately 100 and 250 per year, respectively.

The inpatient acute dialysis center performs approximately 4,000 hemodialysis and 150 continuous arteriovenous hemodialysis treatments per year. The OSU East Nephrology program provides general Nephrology consultations to the patients of this urban community hospital.  The OSU Interventional Nephrology program is located at OSU East.
