Clinical Interests
My outpatient clinic is focused primarily on asthma and other chronic airway disease such as COPD. I also have a specialty clinic in asthma in athletes, with a focus on exercise-induced asthma. As I typically supervise a fellow in clinic, I also see the full spectrum of general pulmonary medicine with my fellows. I also evaluate sleep disorders, primarily sleep-disordered breathing.
My inpatient interests are focused on critical care medicine and general pulmonary consults.
Research Interests My research group is focused primarily on asthma and specifically on translational research projects investigating both pharmacologic and non pharmacologic therapies for asthma. We also have an active research program investigating exercise-induced bronchospasm in competitive and recreational athletes. Our asthma research center is involved in a national clinical research network funded by the American Lung Association and we also have ongoing projects funded by the NIH, other non-for-profit foundations and pharmaceutical companies.
