- To understand the biology of IL-1ß processing and release with respect to differences in monocytes and macrophages
- Protein-protein interaction and the role of intracellular proteins in innate immune response to pathogens
- To understand the function of pyrin, the mutation of the gene causes FMF
- To understand the effect of mutations on inflammasome activation and there by affecting inflammation
