Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?

Columbus Dispatch (Joe Blundo "So to Speak" column)

3/08/07

Winter forward, fall back? I need some time to get used to that idea. Daylight-saving time will sneak up on us Sunday. For 20 years, it arrived like, well, clockwork on the first Sunday in April. But this year it moves to the second Sunday in March. As late as a few days ago, a lot of people hadn’t heard of the change, if my informal survey is an indication. Losing an hour of sleep on Sunday will take a toll on the body, said Ulysses Magalang, director of the sleep-medicine program at the OSU Medical Center.

Some people will recover in a day, he said. Others might need several days. And, yes, he knew when daylight-saving time arrives.
