Staff Recruited to Ohio State Critical Care Program 8/9/2007
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four additional physicians and have been recruited to the division of pulmonary, allergy, critical care and sleep medicine at Ohio State University Medical Center. Joining the division are Drs. Beth Besecker, Douglas Haden, Jennifer McCallister and Jerome Stasek.
Besecker received her medical training from the Medical College of Ohio and completed her internal medicine residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Her fellowship in pulmonary diseases, critical care and sleep medicine was completed at Ohio State University Medical Center. She is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary diseases, and board eligible in critical care medicine. Her research focuses on the role of zinc and its transporters in lung cell survival. Her clinical interests include acute lung injury and sepsis.
Haden received his medical training from the West Virginia School of Medicine He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Duke University Medical Center. He is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary disease, and board eligible in critical care medicine. His specialty interests include pulmonary disease and critical care, and he is clinically interested in pulmonary hypertension.
McCallister received her medical training from the West Virginia University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, where she served as chief resident, as well as completing her fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine. She is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary disease, and board eligible in critical care medicine. Her clinical interests include critical care and asthma.
Stasek received his medical training from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Indiana University Medical Center. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine. His research interests include acute respiratory distress syndrome and severe sepsis. He is clinically interested in general pulmonary and critical care medicine, lung cancer, pleural diseases, venous thromboembolism, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
